Colusa Biomass Energy Corporation is one of the leading cellulosic ethanol developers in the United States. CBEC is pursuing pilot-scale operation of our proprietary process to convert rice straw into ethanol. Rice straw, being most abundant waste biomass in the world, represents the biggest opportunity to create a global cellulosic ethanol business. CBEC has been researching cellulosic ethanol production since 1999.

CBEC is seeking a Senior Chemist to provide lab-scale testing and analysis in support of our pilot-scale and (in the near future) commercial-scale operations. The role will include analysis of hemicellulose hydrolysis by dilute acid, analyis of enzymatic cellulose hydrolysis (using commercially available enzymes) and testing and analysis of our proprietary systems. You will work with our Chief Science Officer, who is responsible for the development of our process to date. This is a role with great potential to be involved in a new technology with global applications and great impact on world energy use.

Requirements:
